Irish Doctors Choir’s annual residential weekend in An Grianán, Co Louth, is already a firm favorite with its members.

IDC Musical Director Brian MacKay will be leading the choir in a varied weekend programme that will feature music for IDC’s Beethoven Year as well as some new songs for our small-concert repertoire.  In an exciting development, we have invited an Irish Doctors Chamber Orchestra to share the house with us this year, and they have asked the choir to perform baroque music with them on Saturday  28th of March to celebrate the Rotunda Hospital’s 275 anniversary.

As well as all the hard work on our music, there will be the usual entertaining social programme. By popular demand, Michael Chambers has agreed to run another wine quiz and we will have some musical entertainment- spontaneous and otherwise- in An Grianán’s private bar. By equally popular demand, Neil Black and friends will be leading another bracing littoral plod early on Sunday morning.

The registration fee for this event is €80 while accommodation and full board is booked direct with An Grianán.
